Central Park

Central Park

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. This week will make up for it!

I took a wonderful, relaxing, centering break in the hustle and grime of New York City. I’m a big city girl through and through and loved every moment of it. My niece and her boyfriend had flown over from England so that made everything perfect. And yes, I did go running in Central Park although it was never an official challenge, it felt like one.. and I loved it. The leaves were perfect fall colors. The highlight of the trip for me was Brooklyn. It felt so much like home I nearly stayed.

Anyway, back to the updates.

I’m pleased to announce that this week I will have lost my first 10lbs. I’m on my way to that 45. That’s one goal that will be a huge weight off my shoulders (literally). Thanks go to Terry Butts of Strength and Endurance for the constant nagging (and kind advice) and to my nutritionist Yvette Quantz whose emails have kept me on track. Her online advice is perfect for me. It’s not intrusive but there is someone checking in with you, and someone to ask for help whenever you need. Just knowing I have to report to her keeps me focused. As Yvette herself says “I’m not the food police” and I like that. I’m learning to listen to my own body. No foods are off limits and it feels good to be in control.

You can all get some free advice from Yvette. She will be hosting a FREE teleseminar this Wednseday, November 11th at 11:00 a.m. CST.  The topic will be “Holiday Waistline Survival”, offering you tips, solutions, and motivation to getting through the holiday season without packing on the pounds!  The call in number is  213-289-0500, access code 9276168.

Training for the half-marathon hasn’t gone so smoothly. I’ve been working around a knew injury but am still getting out there and doing it, if somewhat slower than I’d imagined. I will get there.

The blood drive is all set for Christmas Eve. I will have more details soon. If you can help in any way please contact me. We obviously need people to give blood but would also like other offers.. donations, ideas.. I want to make this a fun event that saves lives. If you can think of any way to help I can’t wait to hear from you. Leave me a comment on here, email me, or call 337 255 4283. We already have some great offers, like food from Jolies Bistro. Yes, this is one blood drive you are going to want to be part of. Anyone who signs up in advance will also get a free copy of my book!

I’m also going to be dressing up as an Elf to help out Santa at the mall. I hear he needs all the help he can get. I will let you know as soon as I get the details.

The business plan is nearly done. I have been consulting with some companies recently and looking at their businesses from a strategic point of view has allowed me to do the same with mine. It’s an interesting process.

This week I have to get back into the swing of things, balancing the challenges with ‘real’ life, especially when I’m travelling can be a challenge in itself but I think I’m ahead of the imaginery schedule I have in my head.
